Routes modules

Routes has a modular design and is built to ensure a high level of intermodule independence. This structure makes the existing system scalable, with the future addition of new modules and features made possible.

In Routes, information is structured across traffic outlines, and these are the backbone of the system. The current traffic outline and the future traffic outline may be devised simultaneously. A former traffic outline is also accessible. Along these three types of outlines, temporary outlines may be used in tests, or to describe some local temporary situations.

Traffic outlines are not isolated. Data transfer from one outline to the other is possible. Also, work commenced on a new traffic outline may be based on an already drafted outline (as a rule, the current traffic outline).

The Routes system is made up of 12 modules:

  • the geography module
  • the passenger trains module
  • the freight trains module
  • the track diagram module
  • the employee timetable module
  • the Public Timetable module
  • the lines module
  • the railroad operators module
  • the auxiliary module
  • the user module
  • the history module
  • the roles module
