This module handles infrastructure-related information: stations, neighboring stations for each station, tracks that make up a station, the connecting tracks between two stations etc. The length of track between stations is designated by the term "link" in Routes. This module is the mainstay underpinning all the other system modules.
The main screen of the module displays the list of all stations in the current traffic outline. By selecting a station in the list, neighboring stations are listed. The module provides search operation features, filtering by station name, as well as the code or the regional subsidiary the stations are subordinated to. Regional boundary stations are highlighted against all the other stations.
Each GEOGRAPHY station may be detailed by adding the information below:
-
name, short form, SIRUES code;
-
the regional subsidiary it services (R1, R2, R3...) and station type (CED, SBW, CC);
-
simultaneous arrival times and spaced arrival times; some stations allow two or more trains to enter the station at the same time. In other stations, a delay must be observed between two train arrivals. Spaced arrival times are station type-dependant;
-
whether it is a flag station or not, a station outside the railway network, a national boundary or a branching;
-
list of lines in each station; each line has its name and length.
Each GEOGRAPHY link may be detailed by adding the information below:
-
the two end-stations which make up the link;
-
name of the link;
-
length;
-
tracks which make up the link; each line may be detailed by adding the information below:
-
designation,
-
maximum running speed for freight and passenger trains,
-
running direction.
-
-
regional subsidiary, link type: BLA, CL; the link type is used to detect conflicts between trains on track diagrams;
-
crossover times, used to detect conflicts between trains on track diagrams;
-
resilience and specific gradient, used to compute the maximum permissible speed a train may reach on that link.
Operations available via this module are:
-
adding, editing deleting a station;
-
synchronizing the station list with the server;
-
viewing trains, diagrams, working timetables, traffic fields, routes and line blocks which that station involves.
-
adding, editing, deleting a link;
-
viewing trains, traffic fields, routes and line blocks which that link involves.
Reports available in this module:
-
the train dwell chart;
-
the train departure, dwell, arrival chart;
-
the train dwell chart used in the traffic mode;
-
a report on freight train consists on a link.
The image below illustrates a dwell report in the Bucharest North RS. A.
